Who am I? Why am I here?
My name is Joey Garrison, if the URL and site title didn’t make that painfully obvious. I’m a resident of Georgia, a fan of baseball, and an avid traveler. I was raised in a traditional, old-school Southern Baptist church. Super traditional, super small, super country. I eventually moved away from that church as I moved to college and got plugged into more “modern” churches until I eventually “left” the church for a period of several years. Now, I am back into a “modern,” contemporary style of church with corporate worship and arms that outreach much further than the walls of my first church.
I created this website with three intentions. The first is the command that was given to me in Matthew 28:16-20. Thankfully, technology has aided out ability to take the gospel almost anywhere in the world (sans closed off countries and countries that don’t have internet access.) Second, it’s an avenue of peace for me. I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts with anyone that will take the time to read them, no matter how bad they may be. Third, I hope it leaves an impact on someone. Impacting one person will make this whole deal worth it – the time, research, and money. One soul is worth it all.

P.S. There’s an additional reason – I am quite worried about the state of many smaller churches in our country, but primarily in my area. Churches where the median age is 65 and the membership dwindles more and more on a monthly basis. I hope to inspire ideas for church growth to continue the advancement of the gospel.
